Which one gave you a harder time as you played through the game? (Note: This is a comparison as to which of the facilities is more difficult. If you want to go in-depth, I'd suggest the Gym Leader Rage! thread.)

My EV trained starter swept through all of the facilities. None of them gave me much trouble really. Though the most annoying was probably the League (though that's not really saying much in my case).

Kanto Gym Leaders, it is rather hard to have your team of similar levels to them.

You're not the only one. That Tangela of hers swept me twice.

I chose Chikorita so I had a hard time with most of the Johto gyms, even though most of the way through my pokemon were overleveled. The league was easy up until Karen and her Houndoom k-o'd most of my team which by this point were strangely underleveled. And the Kanto Gyms were easy, most of my pokemon were mid to late 40's and still easily defeated them up until misty and her annoying-as-heck-Starmie and remained underleveled throughout.

First time through it was a charm. I had no problems except for Clair's second Dragonair and Kingdra. She drove me down to Noctowl with 3 HP using air slash to win it............. After rematching all the Gym Leaders, Jasmines Magnezone and Bronzong were mad annoying. Pryce's Froslass took out my Magmoratar who was twelve levels above it. Right now Bronzong is destroying my Magmortar because of a full restore, Bronzongs stupid ass ability that reduces fire type moves, and hypnosis. REALLY ANNOYING!!!! HONESTLY LANCES FINAL DRAGONITE SECOND TIME WAS EASIER!!!

Johto Leaders I guess. Bugsy was for some reason a pain in my JP SS, and Whitney and Clair were slight annoyances (though still one-try victories) in my US HG. They all really weren't horribly difficult or annoying besides Bugsy. I'm still not sure why, but whatever.

:/ I fight leaders with pokémon WELL under their levels all the time and have had no problems... Fighting with them around the same levels is NOTHING compared to the amazing challenge that is fighting with rather lower level pokémon.

Hm. Depends. My team is rather unbalanced right now--I have a Dragonite that can sweep through any Kanto leader, but I'm trying to train up the rest of my team (high 30s to mid 40s) and they're struggling. Misty was especially frustrating.

I was pretty underleveled around the board in Johto, so those leaders were frustrating. And Lance swept my team several times when I took the League on.

So the answer to your question is: yes.

The League was tougher imo, although Claire's Kingdra was a tough cookie.

I'm not in the League yet, but I can tell that they'll be more of a challenge than the Gym Leaders.

League especially Lance and his dragon types since my pokes don't know Ice type moves...it's almost one hit KO for all of them with my Lapras

Kanto gym leaders. Most of my team were under-leveled for the league which made them severely under-leveled for the new set of gyms.

Actually, with a fair application of items, the league wasn't that bad.

Now, there were a few Gym leaders that were a pain in HGSS, namely Whitney and Claire (I think that Bugsy put up a good fight, too, if I recall). Now I've beaten the E4 fairly, but Sabrina is giving me quite a bit of trouble. Might be because the only thing I have with a super-effective more is my Furret, but still.

I thought the league has been harder. They overall seem to just simply be on a higher playing level than the gym leaders. Even though I spend the whole game creating a gym that's well type-matched particularly for the league and later for the gym leaders in Kanto, I still found them a little challenging simply because they seem to fight better.

And you can't go to a poke center between each of the fights. Oddly, I didn't need to as much, but I imagine I will later in the second time I face them.

I did find Blue difficult. I didn't have any pokemon that were extremely super effective agaisnt his pokemon except for that Pidgeot and I think one or two others...but overall I felt a little intimidated by him and had to take another trip through the E4 (even though they were in the 40s) to get my pokemon up to a good level.

The League, because my Pokémon were seriously underleveled, and I had to level grind them 12 levels.

Bad grammar aside, I think that the gym leaders in Johto are harder than before, and the league is even harder than that. I actually had a little difficulty against Jasmine.
